Penguin Random House invite you to the launch of The Woman at the Wheel by the brilliant Penny Haw!

The Woman at the Wheel is a historical novel that follows the life of Bertha Benz, wife of the better known Carl: ‘He is known as the Father of the Automobile, but she drove their success.’

Like so many other women, Bertha lived largely in her husband’s shadow, but her contributions are now celebrated in this inspiring story of perseverance, resilience and love.

The book is the follow-up to The Invincible Miss Cust, which told the story of the first female veterinary surgeon in Great Britain.

Haw will be in conversation with Christy Weyer at the launch.
