The cover for Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng’s highly anticipated new book Dr T: A Guide to Sexual Health and Pleasure has been revealed! (The Cheeky Natives were there!)

Dr T: A Guide to Sexual Health and Pleasure will be published by Pan Macmillan in August 2019.

Pan Macmillan announced the book back in February, saying: ‘We’re delighted to be working on a book with the indomitable Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng. Her work around sexual pleasure, health and rights is crucial and we can’t wait to share her wisdom and humour with readers.’

‘We’re thrilled to welcome the brilliant Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng to the Pan Macmillan SA family,’ the publisher tweeted at the cover reveal today.

‘We could not be more excited to publish her entertaining and enlightening book releasing this August.’

Book podcasters The Cheeky Natives were at the Pan Macmillan offices for the cover reveal, and tweeted some soundbites from the event.

‘It is A Guide to Sexual Health and Pleasure,’ Mofokeng told The Cheeky Natives. ‘And it is so important for me to write this book because frankly everyone was asking for it, for themselves, for their brothers, sisters, girlfriends, mothers and I thought maybe it is time.’

Mofokeng also had a message for the booksellers who had encouraged her to write the book:

‘So, to all the book sellers: Thank you so much for the keen interest that you have shown in this book and I look forward to visiting you in stores and definitely meeting all of you at the book launch, and when we do the country-wide launches.’

Mofokeng is vice-chairperson of the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Coalition and founder of Nalane Associates. She obtained her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and now runs a women’s health clinic, DISA, in Johannesburg. She is a thought leader and contributor to 5FM and Metro FM’s Sexual Health radio features, the ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ columnist for the Sunday Times, and is internationally published in The Guardian, Teen Vogue and Project Syndicate. She works to leverage the synergy between communications and advocacy for reproductive justice.
