Ronnie Kasrils chatted to Sue Grant-Marshall on Radio Today’s Reading Matters about his extraordinary coming-of-age memoir, Catching Tadpoles: The Shaping of a Young Rebel.

Kasrils is a former ANC (MK) Struggle hero and more recently Minister of Intelligence. In his new book, his fourth memoir, he reflects on compelling question as to what turned a white youngster from a modest background into a lifelong revolutionary of note.

‘It’s his journey from babyhood to his 20s and sparkles with wit, rebellion, sizzling sex and his defiance of apartheid,’ Grant-Marshall says.
