Watch: Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh chats to Phumlani Pikoli about his new novel, Born Freeloaders
 More about the book!

Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh caught up with author Phumlani Pikoli on SMWX, his interactive WhatsApp news channel.

Pikoli is a multidisciplinary artist whose writing has been described as ‘a generational ode’. His first book, a collection of stories called The Fatuous State of Severity, was published by Pan Macmillan last year. Born Freeloaders is his debut novel.

The book looks into life as a young South African at the intersection of oppression and privilege.
