More accolades for Trevor Noah’s book! He has now been shortlisted for the prestigious Thurber Prize for American Humor.
It’s been quite a week for Noah on the literary front, as his autobiography Born A Crime was awarded the Nielsen Booksellers Choice Award, and publicly endorsed by Hollywood star Tyler Perry.
The Thurber Prize for American Humor is the only award for humour writing in the United States.
The 2017 Thurber Prize shortlist is:
- Trevor Noah – Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood
- Ken Pisani – Amp’d
- Aaron Thier – Mr. Eternity
The winner will be announced at a ceremony at Carolines Comedy Club in New York City on October 2, 2017. The winner of the Prize receives $5,000, a commemorative plaque, and is invited to Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio as a featured guest at a special event.
