ANC Youth League, where are you marching?

Rebone ‘Sankara’ Tau is a former member of the ANC Youth League National Task Team and an associate of the Southern African Liaison Office, a civil society organisation contributing to building peace and security through dialogue between national, regional and international actors.

In 2016 she was shortlisted for the City Press Tafelberg Non-Fiction Award. Her political analysis has appeared in the Daily Maverick, News 24, the Mail & Guardian, The New Age and City Press.

In her book The Rise and Fall of the ANC Youth League Tau examines the League from its formation in 1944 to the present day, providing a fascinating view from inside this volatile institution in South African politics, and taking an unflinching look at the controversies surrounding it and the story behind the appointment and sacking of Julius Malema.

Tau will consider the role that the Youth League can play in future.

She will take questions.

Accessing the live-streamed event is as easy as opening a webpage. You will also be able to ask questions via the online chat function. But it is essential that you register.
