Uber Eats is now delivering books from Exclusive Books in South Africa
Exclusive Books has joined forces with Uber Eats to deliver books to word-hungry South Africans.
A selection of 120 books will be available on Uber Eats, sourced from Exclusive Books’s top sellers, across adult fiction, local books, inspiration, business, cookery and children’s books.
According to Exclusive Books, as the app gets used and readers behaviour can be tracked, each store’s list will reflect readers’ tastes. In time, each store’s ‘menu’ will become more customised to the readers in its area.
How to order books on Uber Eats:
- Simply order your book on the Uber Eats platform – you will find Exclusive Books as one of the vendors along with your favourite restaurant.
- Order your book as you normally would for food, and get it delivered within an hour.
- The offer is exclusive to Exclusive Books, and available in all South Africa towns and cities where there is an Exclusive Books, except Botswana, Namibia and Nelspruit*.
* Not all stores will be available immediately but your nearest store will appear in the app if you are within 5km of an already available store.
The Uber Eats store will automatically be selected by location – i.e. the one closest to your location.
The price of books via Uber Eats will be more than you would pay in-store (roughly 10% premium). Exclusive Books says they hope this will be worth it for the convenience of contactless shopping and virtually instant delivery.
Fanatics members will also be able to earn Fanatics points with their order by typing in their Fanatics number when ordering.

Exclusive Books will be rolling out nationwide and customers will need to check their Uber Eats app for an Exclusive Books store within a 5km radius.
Exclusive Books trading hours are:
Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Sunday: 9am – 1pm
Opening hours for stores may be impacted by Covid-19. They recommend calling a store before you visit.
