Short Story Day Africa needs you!
Short Story Day Africa is a small non-profit organisation that relies on donations to fund our development projects. These include the SSDA Editing Mentorship, the annual prize and anthology, and the writing workshops we hold across the African continent.
Publishing, especially in Africa, is difficult at the best of times – but thanks to our friends and patrons, we’ve been going strong for six years, and hope to continue contributing to continental literature for many more years to come. Right now, however, we are especially dry – hence this call for donations.
Funds go towards prize money for the writers, printing of books, admin fees (such as paying for the website and submissions platform), paying our editors and editing fellows, running workshops, and more.
SSDA may be tiny, but it is integral to the African literary sphere. Please help us continue our work in nurturing and strengthening literature in Africa. We accept donations of any size.
