On a recent visit to Jozi’s independent bookstore Bridge Books, Mohale Mashigo listed the five books she recommends for every South African library.

Griffin Shea, the owner of Bridge Books, recently launched the African Book Trust, a new non-profit dedicated to donating local books to South African libraries and schools.

Their goal is to give five books to 1,000 libraries across the country. A R100 donation buys the book and pays for delivery to a South African library.
