International bestselling author Sarah Ladipo Manyika is coming to South Africa!

Save the date! International bestselling author Sarah Ladipo Manyika will be at the Open Book Festival and South African Book Fair this year.

Manyika’s first book In Dependence has sold over 3 million copies, and her second novel Like a Mule Bringing Ice Cream to the Sun was shortlisted for the 2016 Goldsmiths Prize.

Manyika was raised in Nigeria and has lived in Kenya, France, and England. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and for several years taught literature at San Francisco State University. She was chair of judges for the 2015 Etisalat Prize for Literature.

The 2019 South African Book Fair will take place from 6 to 8 September at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.

This year’s Open Book Festival will take place from 4 to 8 September 2019 in Cape Town.
