Don’t miss this Jacana Conversation: Will Ramaphosa’s ANC and his leadership of South Africa survive? (23 Sep)
 More about the book!

In his recent press briefing to the South African Editor’s Forum, President Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted three key areas that need urgent government intervention to pull South Africa from the precipice of disaster: the Covid-19 pandemic, the South African economy and rampant corruption.

Professor Anthoni van Nieuwkerk, from the Wits School of Governance, will be in conversation with author Oscar van Heerden, who recently published his book Two Minutes to Midnight: Will Ramaphosa’s ANC Survive?

The book examines the Ramaphosa presidency both at Luthuli House and the Union Buildings – and whether the president has the necessary support and political will to rise above the factional battles that seem to be crippling the African National Congress, and by extension South Africa.
