Don’t miss the Gauteng launches of Kumi Naidoo’s forthcoming memoir Letters to My Mother: The Making of a Troublemaker (1-3 Nov)
More about the book!
Join Jacana Media at the Gauteng launch events for Kumi Naidoo’s forthcoming memoir Letters to My Mother: The Making of a Troublemaker.
‘Once you’ve read this book you will never be the same again.’ – Noel Daniels, CEO Cornerstone Institute
Growing up in apartheid-era Chatsworth, Naidoo tells how his mother’s suicide when he was just 15 years old acted as a catalyst for his journey into radical action against the apartheid regime.
In this revelatory and intimate story, Naidoo describes his political awakening, and his experiences as a young community organiser and underground ANC activist during the 1980s. His grief and anger became fuel for his efforts to help liberate South Africa and to build a better world.
Letters to My Mother will be in stores on 1 November.
Watch out for Naidoo’s author tour in Durban (5-13 November), Gqeberha (14-15 November) and Cape Town (21-27 November). Hope to see you there!
