#AbantuBookFest the RETURN baba!

Abantu Book Festival has become an annual pilgrimage – the Moria – for black writers and readers held in SOWETO, to celebrate the rich and diverse African literary heritage.

While the book remains the central medium, we present an extensive programme that is a feast for the whole family, which includes poetry and musical performances, photography, dance, food, conversations (oh, the conversations!), as well as film-screening woven into the mix.

Over four days, the best poets, novelists, playwrights, biographers, children’s writers, literary scholars, musicians, actors, activists, thinkers, amapantsula and readers from as far as can be imagined, transform kasi into a literary village.

Our designated bookseller will have your favourite titles on sale. Start budgeting now. Unyaka uphelile.

The 3rd edition –my goodness, we’re on the third edition- is planned for 6-9 December 2018.
