The shortlist for the 2021 Sol Plaatje European Union Poetry Award and Anthology has been announced!
From the longlist of poems selected by this year’s judging panel for publication of volume 10 of the anthology, head judge Professor Mongane Wally Serote has selected the three finalists.
In alphabetical order, the three shortlisted poems are:
- ‘Camagu’ by Kwazi Ndlangisa
- ‘Notes from Ratanang’ Tavern by Zama Madinana
- ‘O Fihlile’ by Mmabore Gladys Mogashoa
How these poems have placed, and the overall winner, will be announced, and cash prizes awarded (R6000 for first place, R4000 for second place and R2000 for third place) at an event held in Cape Town on 16 November 2021.
