More about the book!
Pan Macmillan recently revealed the cover for Angela Makholwa’s new novel, The Blessed Girl, and now we can reveal a little of what the book will be about!
Makholwa’s debut novel, the gripping psychological thriller Red Ink, was published in 2007. Her third book, Black Widow Society (2013), marked a return to a thrilling, crime-ridden world.
The Blessed Girl will be out in October 2017, and looks at the dynamics of the modern day phenomenon of blessers from the vantage point of a blessee herself:
The Blessed Girl follows the seductive and ever-bubbly Bontle Tau’s escapades through life. She’s a woman who uses her knowledge of ‘mencology’ to get what she wants, when she wants. But all that glitters is not gold, and Bontle’s journey for love and acceptance sees some very hard lessons being learnt …
