Watch! Christy Lefteri chats about her bestselling novel The Beekeeper of Aleppo
 More about the book!

Christy Lefteri joined us recently to discuss her moving and powerful new novel, The Beekeeper of Aleppo.

Lefteri was in conversation with writer and editor Efemia Chela.

Brought up in London, United Kingdom, Lefteri is the child of Cypriot refugees. She is a lecturer in creative writing at Brunel University in London. The Beekeeper of Aleppo was born out of her time working as a volunteer at a Unicef supported refugee centre in Athens.

Compassionate and beautifully written, The Beekeeper of Aleppo is a testament to the triumph of the human spirit. Told with deceptive simplicity, it is the kind of book that reminds us of the power of storytelling.

The event was streamed live on The Reading List’s Facebook page, and you can now view the interview on our YouTube channel as well.
