About the author

Anthea Gardner is founder and managing partner of Cartesian Capital, a South African asset management business. She is also a popular financial commentator with slots on Classic 1027 and Cliff Central and a regular guest on CNBC Africa. She has an MBA from Wits Business School and has worked at various international investment banks, including HSBC (Johannesburg), Morgan Stanley (London) and the African Development Bank (Tunis). Anthea lists her time in Tunisia during the Arab Spring as one of her more interesting dinner party stories. As a keen sportswoman, she has also completed several Ironman triathlons.
