Award-winning author Achmat Dangor’s new novel, Dikeledi, is out just in time for the Open Book Festival.
Dangor will be a guest of the festival from 6-10 September in Cape Town.
Dangor lives in Johannesburg, and has published four previous novels: Waiting for Leila, The Z Town Trilogy, Kafka’s Curse and Bitter Fruit, as well as a short-story collection, Strange Pilgrimages.
Bitter Fruit was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for 2004 as well as the 2003 International Dublin Impac Award.
An excerpt from Dikeledi, which was released this month, will be published in the Johannesburg Review of Books – of which Dangor is a patron – on Monday.
