A Short History of Mozambique: Why has the country’s remarkable recovery shown signs of stalling?
More about the book!
A Short History of Mozambique seeks to distil this country’s complex history, and to understand why Mozambicans remain among the poorest people in the world.
Malyn Newitt’s comprehensive history traces the evolution of modern Mozambique, from its early modern origins in the Indian Ocean trading system and the Portuguese maritime empire to the 15-year civil war that followed independence and its continued after effects.
