2021 SA Book Awards winners announced – Refiloe Moahloli’s How Many Ways Can You Say Hello? takes top prize

The winners of the 2021 SA Book Awards were announced on Wednesday, 6 October, during a virtual ceremony.

The winning books were voted for by booksellers from a shortlist of bestselling South African titles, as measured by Nielsen BookScan South Africa in 2020.

  • Non-Fiction: Stephen McGown with Tudor Caradoc-Davies for Six Years with Al Qaeda
  • Children’s: Refiloe Moahloli for How Many Ways Can You Say Hello?, illustrated by Anja Stoeckigt
  • Overall: Refiloe Moahloli for How Many Ways Can You Say Hello?, illustrated by Anja Stoeckigt
