Marie Claire chatted to The Johannesburg Review of Books editor Jennifer Malec recently to find out what the new publication is all about.
A new African literary journal has launched in Johannesburg. The Johannesburg Review of Books (JRB) launched on 1 May and will publish reviews, essays, poetry, photographs and short stories from South Africa, Africa, and further abroad. Like the London Review of Books and the Paris Review of Books, the JRB will offer literary perspectives from a major urban and intellectual centre, but this time the perspectives will be African.
