Join Jacana Media and Love Books to celebrate the worldwide success of CM Elliot’s Sibanda series
 More about the book!

Want to find out what happens when your wildest dreams come true, when the series you wrote is about to move beyond what is often called ‘modest sales’ in southern Africa?

The Sibanda series by CM Elliott is making waves beyond Africa’s borders, optioned for film by Videovision Entertainment and with world rights recently acquired by Constable & Co. (Little Brown).

The series so far contains the books Sibanda and the RainbirdSibanda and the Death’s Head Moth and Sibanda and the Black Sparrowhawk. This crime-writing series focuses on Detective Inspector Jabulani Sibanda, a hard-boiled, bush-loving, instinctive crime fighter. Together with his sidekick, Sergeant Thadeus Ncube, an overweight, bumbling, multi-married policeman, they put their lives at risk as they investigate unique crimes and plumb the depths of Africa’s worst depravities. The series is steeped in the African bush and Matabele culture, and keeps one guessing and laughing in turns.

Come and celebrate as Elliott (otherwise known as Scotty) discusses just how a ‘series Bible’ is constructed and shares some of the details of who may star in the series.

The event will have a little something for everyone who dreams of a fairy-tale ending, and those who want a behind-the-scenes insight into the world of big-money series networks.

Especially interesting for writers and series binge-watchers!

Scotty will be in conversation with Kaya FM presenter Jenny Crwys-Williams.

Bubbles will be served.
