Elizabeth Gilbert withdraws new Russia-set novel The Snow Forest from publication
Jonathan Ball Publishers regrets to inform you that the release of The Snow Forest by Elizabeth Gilbert has been postponed to a future date.
The Snow Forest was announced this week, and was to be released in February 2024.
Gilbert made the decision following anger from Ukrainian readers over the book’s setting of Siberia in Russia.
The Eat, Pray, Love author said Ukrainian readers had expressed ‘anger, sorrow, disappointment and pain’.
She said: ‘This is not the time for a book like this, and I’ll be focusing on my other writing projects.’
