Jacana Media invites you to a conversation on South African cricket and Black Lives Matter.

Lungisani Ngidi’s support of Black Lives Matter highlighted the continued struggle that black cricketers in South Africa face at the highest level of the sport.

Is transformation in South African cricket nothing but a pipe dream? Why are black cricketers and administrators too scared to speak out about discriminatory practices against them? Is cricket really just the proverbial ‘old boys’ club where racism and white supremacy reigns unabated?

Khadija Patel will moderate a conversation between author of Reverse Sweep: A Story of South African Cricket Since Apartheid, Ashwin Desai, and cricket writers Stuart Hess and Lungani Zama that will attempt to answer these questions and present suggestions of a way forward.
