More about the book!
The African Book Trust is a small non-profit with a simple mission: to give South African books to South African libraries.
Their goal for 2018 is to give five books to 1,000 libraries across the country. The libraries could be in a neighbourhood, a school, or any place where books are freely available to the community.
The first book the African Book Trust is donating is Mandla Langa’s novel The Memory of Stones. A R100 donation buys the book and pays for delivery to a South African library.
The Memory of Stones is the story of Zadwa, a sophisticated young graduate whose community wins a land claim. However, their successes to conflict between Zadwa and men who subscribe to traditional attitudes and values towards women in South Africa.
