‘Probably one of the most important books published this year’ – Eusebius McKaiser on The Man Who Killed Apartheid: The Life of Dimitri Tsafendas
More about the book!
Eusebius McKaiser chatted to Richard Pithouse about The Man Who Killed Apartheid: The Life of Dimitri Tsafendas by Harris Dousemetzis, calling it ‘a really significant book’ and ‘probably one of the most important books published this year in our country’.
Both McKaiser and Pithouse criticise the book’s title, with Pithouse affirming that it ‘doesn’t do the extraordinary labours that have gone into this book justice’.
Pithouse adds, however, that The Man Who Killed Apartheid is an extremely ‘important’ book.
‘This is a book that goes into the archive, that permanently changes a whole understanding of a whole era in our history,’ he says. ‘It’s a really, really significant intervention.’
