International author Zinzi Clemmons will be at Bridge Books to launch What We Lose
More about the book!
Jonathan Ball Publishers and Bridge Books are thrilled to invite you to the launch of Zinzi Clemmons’s debut novel What We Lose.
What We Lose is a short, intense and profoundly moving story about race, identity, sex and death.
Clemmons was raised in Philadelphia by a South African mother and an American father. She lives in Los Angeles.
The book follows Thandi’s journey – she is a black woman, but often mistaken for Hispanic or Asian. She is American, but doesn’t feel as American as some of her friends. She is South African, but doesn’t belong in South Africa either. Her mother is dying.
