It’s 20 years since the publication of the first Harry Potter novel by JK Rowling.
The manuscript for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was rejected a number of times before being published in 1997, with a print run of just 500 copies – 300 of which went to libraries..
By the way, if you happen to have one of these original copies lying around (the print line on the copyright page is 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1), it could be worth up to £30,000.
