Zakes Mda’s new novel, The Zulus of New York, will be published by Umuzi in March 2019.
The Zulus of New York is a work of historical fiction that draws on the true history of ‘Farini’s Friendly Zulus’, a group of men taken to Britain and America as performing curiosities.
The book will be launched in Joburg: at Exclusive Books Sandton with Mbali Vilakazi; and Cape Town: at The Book Lounge with Mohale Mashigo and at Exclusive Books Cavendish with Nadia Davids.
